Yes, you will receive your course materials 4-6 weeks before each class commences. The course materials will be available at our learning platform Canvas. You may log in using your NUS credentials.
You may choose from a range of electives offered by NUS to fulfil your required 12 (for UCLA-NUS participants) or 24 (for NUS EMBA participants) elective units. The elective offering is updated on a yearly basis. For your reference, below is the list of electives we offered for previous intakes.

The full list of electives for current intake will be available and shared with you during the onboarding session and will also be reflected in the full program schedule. Instructions on how to apply for electives will likewise be provided during the onboarding session as well.
There are three elective registration periods, each of which will open for around one week. The first registration period will commence right after onboarding session in March. The other will be in June/July and November. More details will be shared with you during the onboarding session and details will be made available on our student portal as well.
There is a maximum class size for each elective. If an elective is oversubscribed, the system will allocate you to the next available elective based on your ranked preferences. If you are not allocated to your chosen elective, you may consider other electives offered in subsequent registration periods or join the waitlist for your preferred elective (if a waitlist becomes available). Please note that you may take a maximum of twelve elective units, inclusive of overseas exchange programs, which also count towards your elective unit limit.
You must begin the program and attend at least one class in Segment 1 before you can apply for a leave of absence. Once your deferment is approved, you will be required to make up the deferred core class with the next cohort. For elective classes, you may choose alternative electives to fulfil your required units. Please note that deferment may affect your graduation timeline.
Though it may vary by subject and individual’s background, we expect approximately 10 hours per week.
Yes, in general, there will be 1 day of immersive learning components in each city. Program office will announce details before each segment.
The final grade will be determined through continuous assessment format. It will be a combination of quizzes, tests, group work, and/or class participation… etc. You may refer to the course outline published via our learning platform Canvas for details.
It varies depending on the nature of subject and its continuous assessment requirements. It could be individual or team-based, or a mix of both.
Yes, participants are required to arrange own flights.
Accommodation is not provided. For segments in Singapore, we will share a list of recommended accommodation options within NUS as well as nearby. While our overseas segment hotel is typically a 5-star property, it is not mandatory to stay there. You may opt for other options which suit your needs.
Once we share the hotel recommendation for overseas segments, you may start to book flights and rooms. This usually takes place 2 to 3 months before the start of the segment.
For the Singapore segments, breakfast, two tea breaks, and one lunch are provided. For overseas segments, two tea breaks and one lunch are provided.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Participants are responsible for obtaining the necessary travel visa to attend class. And the school can provide a letter to support your visa application when requested.
There will be group rates provided at our segment hotel when we reach the minimum number of bookings. You may also want to check rates offered by various online platforms. Depending on locations and seasons, you may choose the better one between the group rate and online rate.
Our classes typically start from 8.30 am and end by 6.30 pm, while instructors may slightly adjust according to progress.
Yes, there is! We will be sharing the QR codes during the onboarding session for you to join.
You will have a chance to meet your classmates at the onboarding session. We will also share the QR codes for the class group chats so you can start connecting and getting to know one another before the first segment.
There will be an orientation and teambuilding at the start of your program. For UCLA-NUS intake 22 and NUS EMBA intake 35, it is scheduled for 7 and 8 May 2026. There will be networking events during the segment.
During segment one, we will arrange a networking event to facilitate interaction between junior and senior participants. We also invite local alumni to join our reception held during overseas segments. In addition, BIZAlum maintains alumni chapters worldwide, along with corresponding regional WhatsApp groups. You may choose to join these networks based on your interests and professional needs.
