Comprising talented professionals from various industries and backgrounds, the 21st cohort of the UCLA-NUS Executive MBA (EMBA) program is ready to leverage their diverse experiences to create a dynamic and innovative learning environment. As they begin this transformative journey, we’re delighted to highlight a few of the remarkable individuals who will be making their mark on this cohort:

Andrew Leang

I was born to Cambodian refugees and live near the beach in Sydney, Australia (but I don’t know how to surf!). I work in technology sales, leading social impact verticals across APAC, helping organizations use technology to drive meaningful change. A big sports fan, especially basketball and soccer. Fitness is important! I’ve completed marathons, and finishing an Ironman triathlon is one of my proudest achievements. I love traveling, experiencing new cultures, and trying great food, with highlights including the Galápagos Islands, Rio Carnaval, and New York City. Always looking for new challenges, I strive to make a positive impact!

Colin Simmons

I am a self-motivated individual eager to collaborate within our program to create change and enhance the development of the built environment worldwide. I take pride in my ability to collaborate effectively, manage change, and pursue daily self-growth. I am looking forward to the challenges that the GEMBA program presents, as well as the opportunity to engage with diverse global industries. It will be an honor to learn from all of you and grow together.

Helen Chen

Beyond business, I’m deeply passionate about sports. Regular golf, swimming, and triathlon training not only keep me physically active but also instill discipline and perseverance. These experiences mirror the determination I bring to my pursuits.

Cynthia Jiang

I chose the UCLA-NUS EMBA program for its unique global perspective, combining top-tier expertise from both Asia and the U.S. The diverse cohort and strong alumni network will allow me to connect with industry leaders across both regions. By the end of the program, I aim to deepen my strategic leadership skills, expand my cross-border business insights, and build lasting relationships with experts in Asia and the U.S. to drive impactful growth in my industry.

Joshua Morey

With over 17 years in leadership roles, my experience at The J. Morey Company and Ori-gen demonstrates a steadfast commitment to innovation in insurance and cross-cultural engagement. At the core, my mission is the pursuit of diversity and strategic partnerships that reflect the values of my organization. By integrating these principles, I ensure that our work at Ori-gen not only remembers our roots but also paves the way for a vibrant future. Outside of work, my passions include spending time with my wife and three kids. We are avid Dodgers and Lakers fans.

Julia Richards

Los Angeles is my home, but I love exploring the world. Switched careers from entertainment to tech and enjoy being challenged every day!

Kevin Miller

I am an explorer at heart and a pioneer in action. I love venturing beyond the known to tackle global challenges through innovative technology. For example, my teams are pioneering to deliver at-scale carbon-free energy for the world. Technology has always fascinated me, but even more so applying it creatively to solve hard problems and improve lives around the world. Weekends you’ll find me on the sports fields with my wife and 2 sons, or at the controls of my airplane.

Christopher Khoo

I’ve worked across consulting, startups, and digital transformation in government and always drawn to meaningful work and good teams. I love cooking, hiking, and growing herbs on my balcony. I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago, studied Mandarin in Beijing, and once tried starting a coding bootcamp in Bali. These days, I’m also a dad, which has reshaped how I think about time, ambition, and what truly matters. I’m here to learn, grow, and figure out what’s next, ideally alongside kindred spirits and over the occasional good meal.

Matthew Ong

I value relationships with people and make a conscious effort to catch up. I am often the glue that brings my friends and business associates together over golf or dinner. I am driven and enjoy reinventing myself, constantly challenging myself in new environments every few years. I also find satisfaction in mentoring and guiding the next generation of IT leaders.

Leah Wei

Learn with and from experienced leaders, expand my global reach, build meaningful connections and collaborations that drive innovative, accessible, and sustainable healthcare.

Lorenzo Lewis

I am an avid researcher, and often can be introverted or extroverted depending on how life and business is going. I love my wife Jordon and Daughter Sareya. My other favorite being is my toy poodle “Billionaire” who lights up my day no matter the occasion.

Michelle Ann Eala

I love being a radiation oncologist at UCLA, where I get to treat cancer with powerful, high-precision x-rays! Born and raised in the Philippines, I’m committed to expanding access to quality cancer care in underserved communities throughout Southeast Asia. To achieve this, I focus on building sustainable and scalable cancer care systems powered by innovation, technology, and global partnerships. I thrive at the intersection of medicine, tech, and global health, bringing people and ideas together to solve big problems. Outside work, I’m running along the beach, hiking a new trail, or searching for the best food in town!

Miriam Daucher

Hi, I’m Miriam! Originally from Germany and now loving life in Singapore, I lead the Workforce & HR Transformation practice at Mercer. With a passion for exploring cultures and cuisines, I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and love hiking remote trails or diving into deep conversations. I love to hear their perspectives, experiences, and life lessons. I am a photographer who loves photographing events, streets, birds, and landscapes, and I am a casual book reader who reads motivational books. I am a space science enthusiast who loves to read about it and admire this universe’s unbelievable surprises. Being alone, looking at the stars in the dark sky with a camera, must be my top-of-the-world moment.

Sunny Seo

Passionate about living a balanced, fulfilling life, I thrive in dynamic environments, always eager to learn, grow, and connect with inspiring individuals.

Sunil Murthy

My journey with Micron Technology over the last 20 years has shaped me to who I am today and has been full of rich learning experiences. In the last fifteen years, I have served as a leader of eight different teams at five different worldwide locations. Having led teams in the US, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, and now India, I have developed a great respect for the challenges in leading culturally diverse teams towards establishing healthy organizations rallying to achieve common goals. I have grown from leading focused technology teams to leading Technology Development department in India.

Takenobu Miki

I want to know how to expand my business, especially in Asia, in order to grow my company. To do this, I want to know the characteristics and people of each country.
